Hello Maplephiles,

I have watched a plethora of movies this week. Unfortunately, they have been at home. I watched Sleepless in Seattle with my wife, Enchanted with my kids, and then Straight Outta Compton by myself. They are all great movies, but Compton was the one that had the most impact. I remember listening to NWA in my dorm room in college. I had no clue about the story behind the music. Amazing stuff.

The Little Projectionist has his own amazing stuff that he has been playing with lately. It is simply called “slime”. While it does not stick to anything, I have been finding different containers of different colored slime all over my house. Every time I get angry, I remind myself that slime does not plug into the wall.  I have made peace with it.

I wanted to show The Comedian at The Maple this weekend starring Robert De Niro, but people flocked to Moonlight last weekend. All three of our movies are up for like a thousand Oscars so it is difficult to replace them with a film that has a 28% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I promise we will get new movies…someday.

The best movie you want to see is probably tonight at Secret Cinema. Oakland Professor Adam Gould has selected a “not rated” 1950’s movie that will certainly warm you up. I know many of you are mad at me about the whole French thing a few weeks ago. However, this program is not easy to put together. We are going to be good for 1-2 mistakes a year. I hope you can focus on the other 22 times we get it right. Anyway, tonight’s film required the studio to make a generous donation to restore a famous landmark in the European city the movie filmed. See you tonight.

Now your moment of Zen
