Last Saturday I finally saw La La Land.  I knew I was going to like it, but I didn’t think it would be my favorite movie of the decade. I think part of it was that I lived in Los Angeles when I was that age. I am a bit upset because I didn’t meet anyone that looked like Emma Stone. If I had, I might have had an alternate ending just like the movie.

The Little Projectionist still has time to choose many different endings. If he does not do his writing homework, the ending may come sooner rather than later. Math does not seem to be an issue as he is a great problem solver. He just doesn’t like writing because it is hard and he is ten. By thirteen I expect he’ll be Steven King.

This weekend we are bringing in one of the films that has been nominated for best foreign picture. The movie is The Salesman and is one of the top-rated movies of 2016. The Riviera is getting a breakout documentary based on the unfinished manuscript of James Baldwin. I am Not Your Negro is a powerful cultural analysis that you should make time to see. Another top-rated movie of the year opening is John Wick 2. Seriously, look it up on Rotten Tomatoes. Also, Fifty Shades Darker and The Lego Batman movie open along with Wick at both The Palladium and Riviera.

I heard they figured out the thing with the projector at Secret Cinema. That’s good news but next week we are not even going to chance it.  Film Producer Eddie Rubin is presenting an early 70’s movie that has a very famous director and stars an actor who recently had a big flop. The film is rated R and is described as haunting, pioneering, moving, and de-romanticized.

Now your moment of Zen
