Hello Maplephiles,

The season finale of This Is Us was last night and I only got tears once. That is far lower than the usual waterfalls the show seems to produce at will. It’s like watching the death scene in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial every single week. Now that it’s over, I need happy TV. Can’t wait for the next season of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I need to curb the enthusiasm of a particular 10-year old boy. The Little Projectionist went to the dentist today and learned that he has three cavities. I found this amazing as I thought he brushed his teeth every evening and every morning. Turns out he does not “brush”. To him brushing your teeth means swirling toothpaste around in his mouth for 5 seconds and then spitting. My wife and I have decided we won’t allow laughing gas when his teeth have to be pulled. Just for educational purposes.

This week we get two films at The Maple. You all know about Beauty and The Beast, but we are also opening a wee bit smaller movie called Sense of an Ending. Based on the Julian Barnes novel of the same name, this movie looks very different from a Disney musical. Riviera is also playing Beauty if you want to recline.

Secret Cinema is presented tonight by Ken Droz and it is rated R. This film won many awards and I would never choose to watch it unless I was with 200 people in a movie theater. Luckily, that will happen tonight. I will try to introduce you to Thomas our new GM who comes to us from Chi-town.

Now your moment of Zen
