Hello Maplephiles,

I found a new show on TV that I like. It is a show called Crashing on HBO.  I love stand-up comedy so following this lovable loser-type try to make it is fun. If you love stand up, and don’t mind serious raunchy humor, seek out The Aristocrats. This documentary has over 100 stand-up comedians paying tribute to Johnny Carson’s favorite joke.

The Little Projectionist is full of jokes these days. He has good timing, but not a ton of material. If I can ever pry him away from a screen, maybe we can work out a set. Feel free to send me all jokes that would be funny coming from a 10 year old boy.

This weekend we are opening Gifted starring Chris Evans of Captain America fame. I watched this film and it was very enjoyable and sweet. I am getting excited for Tommy’s Honor and Their Finest. Particularly Their Finest which looks like a very good film. If you like fast cars, The Riviera is opening The Fate of The Furious.

I am excited to attend Secret Cinema next week to assist David Shaerf in presenting his New Hollywood selection. This film is a fun comedy/drama that launched the career of a current big name actor. The film is from the 1990’s but is not about that decade. IMDB says that if you liked Almost Famous, you would like this film too.

Now your moment of Zen

Tommy's Honour (PG)
Rated for thematic elements, some suggestive material, language and smoking
Ophelia Lovibond • Sam Neill - 117 minutes
Poster Set against the early days of the sport and stunning landscape of Scotland, TOMMY'S HONOUR is based on the intimate and powerfully moving true story of the challenging relationship between "Old" Tom Morris and "Young" Tommy Morris, the dynamic father-son team who ushered in the modern game of golf. As their fame grew exponentially, Tom and Tommy, Scotland's Golf Royalty, were touched by drama and personal tragedy. At first matching his father's success, Tommy's talent and fame grew to outshine his father's accomplishments as founder of the Open Championship in 1860, his stellar playing record, and his reputation as the local caddie master, greenskeeper and club & ball maker. In contrast to his public persona, Tommy's inner turmoil ultimately led him to rebel against the aristocracy who gave him opportunity, led by The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews chief Alexander Boothby, and the parents who shunned his passionate relationship with his girlfriend-then-wife Meg Drinnen
