Hello Maplephiles,

Well that was a week I will remember. I swear the Maple theater has ghosts. It is one of those places that is old enough where I honestly believe it is true. We have ghosts that like to break things and make things hard. The theater is really awesome, but these ghosts just don’t want us to get comfortable with our love. So they make us earn it every day. Sunday we had a projector just break. 33% of our seating capacity. No movies. Monday the café lost our Cappuccino machine. That’s about 60% of our coffee capacity. I wish the Ghostbusters were real.

Many people lately have asked how the Little Projectionist is doing. He is enjoying his teenage years studying for college and volunteering for charity projects. He has decided that eating processed foods is not healthy and started to exercise as well. Perfect child. None of that is true, but he is mad at me because I won’t buy a Tesla.

This week we got an exclusive movie from our friends at Focus. Dark Waters shows that while Mark Ruffalo took that “non-cinematic” role as The Incredible Hulk for Marvel, he knows how to make a great movie. He was in Spotlight (Best Picture) a few years ago, and even better in Now You See MeA Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood and Ford v Ferrari make for the holiday tri-fecta.

Next week Secret Cinema: Old Hollywood is a Christmas movie. It is about an hour and a half and for all ages. It is funny and I never heard of it before it was nominated by our host Ruth Daniels. Find your clue in the movie Fletch which may even stump Frank.

Maple Café is open and we still are fixing a bunch of stuff. The only thing we don’t have to fix is the food. That is being done well. If you hate Mediterranean food then I recommend soup and grilled cheese.

Announcements from Ruth:
When Harry Met Sally is 30 years old!  This is a film that people often tell me that they would like to see again. We are playing the 30th Anniversary edition from Fathom Events next Tuesday, December 3rd at 7 p.m.

Don’t forget while you're shopping for gifts to stop by and get Maple Gift Cards! They can be used in the theater and at the The Maple Café!
